2026 new features
After more than a year of major works, the Bioparc is revealed, renewed, for the 2026 season.
The tundra is getting a makeover!
The entire caribou habitat has been redesigned to provide a fresh new look for the area. A new habitat, adjacent to the caribou’s, hosts Arctic canids. A large terraced walkway, high up, gives an unobstructed view of the two habitats. Two large windows, at ground level, also allow privileged contacts with the animals.
The river and the otters
Shutting down the area for the summer of 2025 allowed a complete redesign of the habitat. More spacious, with a huge swimming pond, this new space is the perfect playground for river otters.
Exhibitions and scientific mediation program
In order to enhance visitor experience at the Bioparc, our team has developed a program of exhibitions and scientific mediation to offer you a fresh perspective on biodiversity.
Desjardins Exhibition Pavilion: We will have the privilege of hosting the exhibit Brown, white, black : Bears of Canada. This creation of the Musée du Fjord, made possible with the support from the Government of Canada, offers a fascinating incursion into the universe of these iconic mammals.
Amphibians and reptiles’ corridor : The passage leading to our cold-blooded residents turns into a thematic gallery, highlighting the often overlooked richness of Quebec’s herpetofauna through a series of captivating photographs.
The outdoor trails will be enhanced by :
A new scientific mediation circuit : Interactive stations designed to deepen your knowledge in a playful way.
An open-air gallery : A brand new selection of renowned wildlife paintings by Monique and Gisèle Benoît, offering a unique artistic perspective on the wildlife around us.
Greater comfort for visitors
In order to make the visit as pleasant as possible, several aspects of the park have been revamped:
- New sanitary facilities
- Enlarged and improved picnic area
- New covered interpretation area, to enjoy the animations away from the rain and sun
A season of captivating discoveries awaits you at the Bioparc!
Meet the animals
At different times during the day, attend the training and feeding of the seals, raccoons, lynx, black bear, wolves and several other species. Learn more about their biology and behavior as well as their biomedical training in company of the animal keepers and the naturalists.
A great way to observe the animals behavior.
Discovery Activities
The naturalists await you at various locations around the site to help you discover fascinating facts on the fauna and their ecosystems. Activities offered mostly in French.
Variable hours. Ask a naturalist!
- Qui se cache derrière ces traces?
- De quel bois je me coiffe?
- Pho-que j’y pense
Handling of living organisms awaits you in the insectarium and the amphibians and reptiles pavilion.
