Canada Goose

Branta canadensis

V-shaped flight.

  • During migrations, the geese fly in irregular V formations which help it to conserve energy and travel longer distances as well as better coordinate the movements of the group.
  • The goose mates for life.
  • It is very territorial. It threatens by opening its mouth and sticking out its tongue, by hissing, screaming and vibrating the feathers along its neck. It can also charge at strangers.
