The River

Most of the major Gaspé rivers originate in the mountains, where there is little to no human activity. Their water is clear, cold and well oxygenated.

More than 20 of them are protected for salmon, as they welcome these frequent travellers who come to breed and spawn there.

The abundance of fish then attracts mammals such as river otters and birds such as bald eagles.
