Not just in the woods…
It is the most terrestrial turtle of Quebec. In summer, it is observed in woodlands and fields surrounding meandering rivers.
It uses a particular technique to catch earthworms. It stomps the ground with its front feet, possibly to imitate the sound of rain, to get the worms to come out of their tunnels.
