Who are we?

The Bioparc is a museum institution with a scientific vocation whose mission is to offer a memorable and educational experience to visitors through contact with indigenous species of Quebec.

It proposes to visitors an animal park where vegetation is abundant and installations are arranged in function of the animals’ well-being. Its live collections, expositions, scientifique popularization and discovery activities, as well as its educational programs allow it to meet this mission.

The Bioparc has been active since 1998.

The Bioparc gives prominence to the indigenous species of Quebec and these are subdivided into 5 ecosystems: the bay, the barachois, the river, the forest and the tundra. Thus, the Bioparc can be visited as though going for a walk in nature.

The well-being and comfort of the animals at the Bioparc is of the highest priority and is a part of the fundamental values of the animal park: attentive and rigorous care, stimulating enrichment programs, and secure habitats that encourage action.

Other than the animal habitats, the Bioparc presents a pavilion housing amphibians and reptiles of Quebec, an insectarium, a petting farm and a play course. It operates 9 waterfront tourist residences, a restaurant service and a gift shop. It presents an annual ornithological event, the Fest-Oiseaux, which brings together numerous bird watchers. The animal park holds a seasonal day camp as well as a spring break for children aged 8 to 11 years old. The Bioparc also offers an intimate and immersive activity “Overnight with the Wolves” which includes spending the night on the site.
